“Brilliant” (as the main event compere at the Royal Albert Hall)
— Jen Privett, Barnardos

compere / host

Royal Albert Hall

I have hosted some spectacular events on some of the most iconic stages in the UK including the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Centre and the Royal Festival Hall. I have also acted as MC at countless small scale events including award ceremonies and charity galas, most memorably co-hosting a fund-raising event with stars from Strictly Come Dancing at London’s Hippodrome Casino. I am frequently asked to sit on judging panels in front of live audiences at singing competitions, including the recent Glee Club finals at the Hackney Empire. I recognise that I am pretty fearless with even the most unruly of audiences and try hard to balance the needs of the audience with those of the hosting organisation. Without doubt, it is my background in musical cabaret as a writer, composer and performer that has furnished me with the ability to extemporise on a script and react in real time to the unforeseen incidences of live presentations. I have performed at 100s of events all over the world and have a long history of developing client specific (corporate and private) entertainment that incorporates personalised scripting and song-writing. It is from this work that I have naturally evolved as a presenter and MC. A few of the companies I have worked with include Polo Ralph Loren (Geneva), Volvo, Shell, Ernst & Young, KPMG Consulting, The Mercers Company, Stonewall and Channel Four News.
